  1. guitar work has really improved. yr guitar playing + the drumming go together like peas+carrots.

piano is a nice touch, too.... all could be tighter, though. lyrics and piano sometimes feel like they're not matching up quite right.

but it is just a rehearsal so hey... yeah.

also: disregarding the chorus-- don't be afraid to SING. sing it like a singer. although now that i think about it, it could just be the recording/sound levels.

  2. also: do you know the band elbow? if you don't, that's funny, because i can hear some of them in yr band.

    grace under pressure
i've got your number (especially this one.)

  3. thanks for the killer input, anon. this was from our second practice back in april, dustin wasn't able to make it so we ran through the set as a trio. the most impressive thing, i think, is the camera! jeff was still deciding his lines and accents and i can always do better, i am a true novice, jy is beast- he's right on every note. the verse is supposed to be delivered soft to build that pensive feeling so when the chorus hits, it blows you away. you must know who i am. i'd love to know who you are. no, haven't heard of elbow, i was shooting for peter gabriel.

  4. you sound pretty good for a novice. "intermediate and/or enthusiast" is more fitting, i think. but i/(we?) can barely hear yr vocals sometimes, and like i said, that might just be because of the recording/nature of the camera.

"JY"(?) IS a great drummer. he also reminds me of the drummer from elbow... and blonde redhead... sounds like he's got some jazz influences going on, too.

i don't know you who are, and i'm afraid that this is all i can give you of me: :::

(PS) peter gabriel is great. "in your eyes" is my absolute favorite... and "sledgehammer" is too... just for fun. especially for karaoke, hahaha.
(PPS) check out elbow when you have time, if you want. all of their albums are pretty good. you may like them, you may not-- if not, no offense taken.
